I moved from Beijing to Vancouver a little over three years ago. At first everything seemed new, and I did not always know where I belonged. Drawing was how I slowed down and made the unfamiliar world feel real.
The second piece is my study desk. This is where my life takes place on a daily basis. The books, laptop, lamp, and scattered tools may look mundane, but they're a part of my routine here. This desk illustrates how life in Vancouver, in the end, gradually normalised for me, even became something I like.
