 Maritime Museum Project

The site model at 1:1000 (below) shows the design of a new Vancouver Maritime Museum, relocated to east of Cambie Street bridge, between 1st Ave and the Sea wall. Since the False Creek area was inhabited by diverse groups of people throughout history, many factors have influenced the surrounding buildings and environment. Like the False Creek area, seashells can inhabit various marine creatures throughout time, holding the memories and experiences of all who have resided within it and thus, inspiring the design of the maritime museum.

Featured below is a model of the museum at 1:200, which takes a closer look at the museum layout and design for the first floor. The bottom floor will feature a lobby, temporary exhibition spaces as well as restaurants.
