This piece is meant to illustrate the effects anxiety has when clouding my judgement from a surgical perspective. Whether it’s more invasive like a heart surgery, or something being done on simpler body parts, everyone becomes anxious. This is primarily due to people fearing what they don’t understand. This piece is meant to show how even with the understanding that the surgeon has years of education, practice, and precision, I still felt uneasy being operated on. Despite understanding such, I was growing increasingly more anxious with the thought of something going wrong. One small tear could leave me paralyzed. All those negative thoughts clouded my mind as I prepared for the operation. The eyes in the area where they are operating is meant to symbolize how I felt when in the surgical room, constantly wanted to see every more or decision the doctors made.
