“Within my work I focus on taking a situation and altering an aspect of it to change the way that people view it. I aim to capture something semi-realistically and add other, more bizarre-or whimsical things to it. I achieve this through colour, text or more elaborate symbols and objects. I incorporate my own cartoonish style either digitally or using traditional mediums. I had little experience using acrylic paints before this class so this was a good opportunity to learn how to create art using a medium I was not too familiar with.”
A rabbit laughed, "I'm a man." He looked at the corn and stones.

The horse rode in and pushed out God's will.
The night was tiny. Two blankets hung over the fire.
“I sit on a dark wooden chair with a soft leather-like seat at a table set we inherited from my grandmother when she moved. The table is so shiny and reflective we keep it covered in order to not warp or scratch it. Covered by an offwhite tablecloth that has been stained by dusty paint despite my attempts to keep it clean. Among the pencils and books, my rabbit mug contains iced coffee that has somehow turned hot. It adds to the clutter. Rubbery black eraser pills and shavings litter the surface of the tablecloth, where I sit. They are so light in weight that they are nearly impossible to brush off. My little packet of plastic dinosaurs and horses come to life when I'm not looking and move around my living room, never staying in the same place for long enough for me to know where they are. They're trying to escape me and my attempts to turn them into earrings. My supplies and papers shift around the living room as well. They are being cleaned up by my mom when I’m not there. She doesn’t like the mess but the mess always wins and it always finds its way back to the table.”
