This artwork explores ideas of social status, work, and illusion. The silhouettes of people inside the glass cup represents how large companies or corporations may view workers from above and as part of a system. Many people believe they are working toward independence or success but are often working for someone else instead. This idea is inspired by the lyric, “Somewhere in the world they think they’re working for themselves, they get up everyday to go to work for someone else” by Sabrina Carpenter.
