Deja Thomson

As an artist, I am interested in anatomy and rendering, creating satisfaction to the eye. Through my journey with art, I have struggled with this at times, yet it is what brings me joy and motivation for my creations. When I was younger, I was heavily influenced by dragons and the figures of creatures featured in books and stories that I was intrigued by.

In sixth grade, I started to branch out and try other subjects to study and different mediums to work with. I mostly use graphite and charcoal pencils as well as acrylic paints, in my day to day works, but also like to use watercolours, pastels, and clay.

This piece was inspired by a dream I had. I thought it would be interesting to try and incorporate hands for teeth. I used acrylic paint on canvas, and experimented with new techniques, such as using a palette knife and painting with my fingers.
